Daniel Martin made a comeback after 13 months on the sidelines in the later stages of today's game against a new look Foresters, but despite keeping any more goals out his introduction couldn't avoid the 4-1 defeat.

Forester started very well and were on top throughout the first 20 minutes, and they looked a very good side considered the majority of the first team were making their debut. They broke the deadlock after sloppy marking from Zac Stanger allowed the big number 9 through, and despite a fantastic save by man of the match Andy Battye the striker followed up with a simple tap in.

As The Woolpack pushed for an equaliser Foresters showed weakness at the back and were regularly giving the ball away with sloppy passing and miss-kicks. But The Woolpack just couldn't capitalise, Ross Hawkyard and Scott Dawson both missing chances and Nathan Adams getting caught offside at least three times.

The second Foresters goal came from a break down their left wing and a player getting through one on one and finishing comfortably, and the third was a corner that Zac Stanger managed to put in his own net.

Shortly after half time Will Herbert replaced Scott Dawson and the team changed to 4-3-3 with Chris Lockwood now the third striker. This piled pressure onto Foresters and eventually Ritchie Hawkyard, up from the back, found some space and belted the ball home. At 3-1 and pushing forward the Woolpack looked good and as though they could get something from the game and Richard Kirby replaced Lockwood to provide some much needed energy up front.

But they got caught out on the counter and Foresters made it 4-1. As the heads dropped, queue Daniel Martin. He came on to replaced the tired legs of Tim Dyson at the back and quickly got called into action with a fine sliding tackle as the striker broke into the box. But there was little he could do as The Woolpack missed more chances at the other end, mostly involving Nathan Adams and Kirby.

As the game came to a close it was another bad beat for a side that thought the rosy start to the season would continue. And with division one champions Waterloo next week, followed by title contenders Barge Albion the week after, the return of Martin and Dyson in defence is a real boost as is the news that James Turpin, Ben Fox and Sean Cosgrove are also back to fitness.
