Man of the Match: B.Ramsden-Reilly - With the game being so stretched, Bradley took full advantage of the space in the middle of the park and ran things for the Woolpack.
Wooden Spoon: Martin - Despite a fairly solid performance with only a few mistakes, they might have kept a cleansheet had Dan not been on his arse for the goal.

The Woolpack take their season wins to 5 with a hard-fought win against bottom side Wellington. Again their were a handful of absences for the Woolpack, so Tim Dyson continued at centre back, with Daniel Martin coming in at right back. Arnold kept his place up front as Bradley Ramsden-Reilly moved into central midfield to partner Chris Shaw, allowing Campbell to play on the wing.

The conditions at Reinwood Rec were pretty poor, the wind was howling, the pitch was terribly uneven and The Wellington had the advantage of the slope in the first half.

This was an advantage they quickly used, as they pressed down their right wing and floated a cross into box which the wind got hold of causing all sorts of confusion at the back, allowing a Welly striker the time to make a brilliant finish at the far post.

This unexpected lead gave The Woolpack cause to really attack and they began what turned out to be a game totally played in the opposition half.

Through-out the first half, The Woolpack seemed to find most of their threats coming down the right hand side, with a succession of throw-ins and corners won by Calum Campbell. But with non-stop shots and attacks they just couldn't score. Ramsden-Reilly and Lockwood both hit really good long-range efforts, the Keeper made two brilliant saves, one from Ross Hawkyard and the other from Chris Lockwood.

At half time the Woolpack felt hard done by, but they knew they had the slope and the wind on their side in the second half. But despite this massive advantage - the Welly goal kicks never reaching the half-way line, they still couldn't score. With Lockwood and Campbell now swapping wings Chris Lockwood was seeing a lot of the ball, but he missed a few good chances, but Chris Shaw had the best chance of all, missing a sitter from in the six yard box. But as it looked like they would never score, a scrappy attack saw Arnold's shot finished off by the head of Ross Hawkyard.

The pressure continued as the Woolpack looked for the winner, and it should have been given when Ramsden-Reilly's shot was turned goalwards by Hawkyard's diving header, but he was declared off-side.

At the other end though, The Wellington were denied a penalty, when Andy Battye came out very heavily into a Wellington player who stayed on his feet to try and score. This counter attack was now becoming more regular as The Woolpack were pushing for a winner. And the Welly almost scored when a shot went just wide.

Then, with 8 minutes left a cross from Chris Lockwood found the head of Ross Hawkyard who finished well to take the lead. Despite now being behind The Wellington didn't press much more and The Woolpack hung-on fairly easily to take the 3 points.
